To improve your productivity, you really need to get stuck into what you need to complete. Do not multi-task! Especially if you have a tight deadline, that means not check emails or starting a new task. Put all of your focus into what you are tying to achieve, especially if you have a deadline. Set Your Own Deadlines.

When you have a new task, set you own deadline before the due date so you can get it done before it needs to be completed. This will allow you extra time to check for mistakes and even submit it early. It is always better to be early rather than late.
